Bras on display to recognize breast cancer awareness month

CHICAGO HEIGHTS | "Beauteous, Bountiful Bras" is the name of an exhibit on display from Friday through Nov. 11 at the Union Street Gallery, 1527 Otto. Blvd. in Chicago Heights, in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
More than 20 bras have been painted, covered with feathers, papier-mache and even welded to be included in a silent auction fundraiser being held in conjunction with the Cancer Support Center, which has locations in Homewood and Mokena.
A preview of the exhibit can be found online at www.unionstreetgallery.org. A free opening reception takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
